Finding a point of difference in a category where the content is the same as your competitors is an interesting challenge. As we compared competitor sites with audience profiles it became clear the answer was in seeing our users as regular, everyday people, not data-hungry meteorologists. This meant taming the technology to work for the users in a very open, simple and approachable design that breaks through the feature clutter of most weather sites.
